What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for maintaining their premises. This includes keeping both the interior and adjacent public areas clean, orderly, and in excellent repair. Franchisees must handle all necessary additions, alterations, repairs, and replacements at their own expense to meet this standard. However, franchisees must obtain prior written consent from Beggars Pizza before making any changes beyond the required maintenance.

Specifically, the maintenance includes periodic repainting or replacement of obsolete signs, furnishings, equipment, and décor as directed by Beggars Pizza. This ensures that each location maintains a consistent brand image and meets the franchisor's standards. If a franchisee fails to address maintenance deficiencies within a reasonable time, Beggars Pizza has the right, but not the obligation, to correct the issues and charge the franchisee for the expenses incurred.

Furthermore, Beggars Pizza requires franchisees to refurbish the premises at the franchisee's expense, no more than once every five years, unless the lease requires it sooner. This refurbishment is to ensure the location conforms to the current building design, trade dress, color schemes, and presentation of Beggars Pizza's proprietary marks. The refurbishment may involve structural changes, remodeling, redecoration, and modifications to existing improvements, ensuring that the restaurant aligns with the current image of new Beggars Pizza restaurants.
