- 8.4.2 Franchisor will have the right, but not the obligation, to develop, have developed for it, or designate (a) computer software programs that Franchisee must use in connection with the Computer System (the "Required Software") that Franchisee must install at Franchisee's expense, (b) updates, supplements, modifications, or enhancements to the Required Software that Franchisee must install at Franchisee's expense, (c) the tangible media upon which Franchisee will record data, and (d) the database file structure of the Computer System.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Required Software includes computer software programs that the franchisee must use in connection with the Computer System. Franchisees are responsible for installing this software at their own expense.
The Required Software also includes any updates, supplements, modifications, or enhancements to the software, which the franchisee must also install at their own expense. Furthermore, the definition extends to the tangible media used for recording data and the database file structure of the Computer System.
Beggars Pizza franchisees may be required to purchase or lease the Computer System and the Required Software. Beggars Pizza has the right to remotely access and use data from the franchisee's Computer System or Required Software. Franchisees must adhere to Beggars Pizza's standards and specifications for all components of the Computer System and Required Software, maintaining the system in good repair and implementing any changes or replacements as directed by Beggars Pizza. All costs associated with compliance are the responsibility of the franchisee.
