What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee is a partnership, they must furnish the franchisor with a copy of their partnership agreement, including any amendments. Beggars Pizza may also reasonably request other documents from the franchisee. The partnership agreement must conspicuously state that partnership rights are subject to all restrictions imposed on assignments by the Franchise Agreement.
This requirement ensures that Beggars Pizza maintains control over who its franchisees are and that all partners are aware of the obligations and restrictions of the franchise agreement. This is a common practice in franchising, as franchisors need to ensure consistency and protect their brand standards.
For a prospective Beggars Pizza franchisee entering a partnership, this means carefully reviewing the franchise agreement and ensuring the partnership agreement aligns with its terms. They should also be prepared to provide any additional documentation that Beggars Pizza may request. Failure to comply with these requirements could potentially lead to a breach of the franchise agreement.
