What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, all data related to the restaurant's operations, including consumer and transaction data, is owned exclusively by Beggars Pizza. However, Beggars Pizza grants the franchisee a royalty-free, nonexclusive license to use this data during the term of the Franchise Agreement. This license allows the franchisee to utilize the data specifically for the establishment and operation of their Beggars Pizza restaurant.

This arrangement means that while franchisees can access and use the data to manage and improve their restaurant's performance, they do not own the data outright. Beggars Pizza retains ownership and can use the data for its purposes, such as system-wide marketing analysis or operational improvements. Franchisees must also adhere to all applicable laws regarding consumer, employee, and transactional information privacy.

Upon termination or expiration of the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee's right to use the data ceases. This is a standard practice in franchising, ensuring that the franchisor maintains control over proprietary information and customer data. Prospective franchisees should understand that the data they collect and use during the franchise term ultimately belongs to Beggars Pizza, and they will lose access to it once the agreement ends.

Furthermore, franchisees cannot publish, disseminate, implement, revise, or rescind a data privacy policy without Beggars Pizza's prior written consent. This ensures that all data-related practices align with Beggars Pizza's overall standards and legal obligations, maintaining consistency and protecting customer privacy across the franchise system.
