What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor communicates its required methods, standards, and specifications to franchisees primarily through the Manual and other written communications. The franchise agreement stipulates that franchisees must operate their restaurants in strict accordance with the methods, standards, and specifications that Beggars Pizza prescribes. These guidelines are crucial for maintaining consistent quality, service, and brand reputation across all franchise locations.
Beggars Pizza requires franchisees to adhere to specific standards for products, ingredients, supplies, and equipment. Franchisees must purchase these items from designated or approved suppliers to ensure uniformity and quality. Beggars Pizza may designate itself or an affiliate as the exclusive supplier for certain products. Franchisees are also obligated to sell only approved menu items and products, and they must discontinue selling any items that Beggars Pizza disapproves of in writing. The franchisor provides a deadline for implementing these changes, with at least 90 days' notice for new products and 30 days' notice for discontinued items.
Furthermore, Beggars Pizza's standards extend to the franchisee's online presence. If a franchisee is permitted to have a separate website, its domain name, format, and content must be pre-approved by Beggars Pizza. The franchisee must also adhere to any website standards that Beggars Pizza prescribes in the Manual or in writing. This control ensures that the franchisee's online representation aligns with the brand's overall image and marketing strategy. Delivery services must also adhere to Beggars Pizza's standards as set forth in the manual, including minimum delivery hours and acceptable methods of payment.
