What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees have specific obligations regarding trade secret items. Beggars Pizza has developed proprietary and confidential recipes, including pizza dough, spaghetti and pizza sauces, sausage, and secret spice blends, which are part of their system. These items are considered essential to the operation of the Beggars Pizza restaurant.

To ensure uniformity and quality, franchisees must purchase these trade secret food ingredients exclusively from Begcom LLC or other designated suppliers. Begcom is the designated supplier for additional food items and supplies such as cheeses, sausages, and paper products. Some of these items bear Beggars Pizza's proprietary marks, while others do not. Beggars Pizza retains the right to specify other designated suppliers for various products, materials, supplies, paper goods, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment used or sold at the restaurant.

Upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, the franchisee must immediately cease using any confidential methods, procedures, and techniques associated with the Beggars Pizza system. They must also dispose of any proprietary or trade secret products, including those bearing the Proprietary Marks or contained in packaging bearing the Proprietary Marks. This ensures that the trade secrets remain protected and are not used to compete with Beggars Pizza after the franchise agreement ends.

These stipulations are typical in franchise agreements to protect the brand's unique recipes and operational methods. By requiring franchisees to source ingredients from approved suppliers and cease using trade secrets upon termination, Beggars Pizza aims to maintain consistency and protect its competitive advantage.
