What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase certain items from specific suppliers to ensure uniformity and quality. Beggars Pizza has developed proprietary recipes, considered trade secrets, for items such as pizza dough, spaghetti and pizza sauces, sausage, and secret spice blends. These products are sold through Begcom or other suppliers designated by Beggars Pizza. The franchisee acknowledges that these items are essential to the restaurant's operation.
Begcom is the designated supplier for additional food items and supplies, including cheeses, sausages, and paper products, some of which may bear Beggars Pizza's proprietary marks. Beggars Pizza may also specify other designated suppliers for various products, materials, supplies, paper goods, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment. Franchisees must purchase these items from Begcom or other designated suppliers to maintain the uniform quality and image associated with Beggars Pizza restaurants.
This requirement ensures that all Beggars Pizza restaurants maintain consistent quality and standards, protecting the brand's reputation and goodwill. While this may limit a franchisee's choice of suppliers, it helps ensure product consistency and adherence to Beggars Pizza's established standards. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these requirements and their potential impact on their operating costs and supply chain management.
