What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, when using the SpeedLine Pay App, franchisees acknowledge that electronic communications will be transmitted over the internet and other networks not owned or operated by SpeedLine. Beggars Pizza franchisees agree that SpeedLine is not responsible for any electronic communications that are delayed, lost, altered, intercepted, or stored without authorization during data transmission across networks not owned by SpeedLine, including the Internet. This means that Beggars Pizza franchisees bear the risk of communication issues that arise from third-party networks.

This lack of responsibility extends to any data whatsoever transmitted across these external networks. The franchisee is responsible for maintaining their own data backups, as SpeedLine assumes no responsibility for these backups. This places the onus on the Beggars Pizza franchisee to ensure data security and integrity, especially concerning customer and transaction data processed through the SpeedLine Pay App.

This is a fairly standard practice in the franchise industry, where software providers often limit their liability regarding third-party services and infrastructure. Beggars Pizza franchisees should ensure they have robust security measures and backup systems in place to mitigate these risks. Understanding this allocation of responsibility is crucial for managing operational risks associated with electronic transactions.
