What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must remit all amounts due to Beggars Pizza for the previous Accounting Period each Monday. The Accounting Period is defined as the period from Monday through the following Sunday. These payments are to be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT). Beggars Pizza also retains the right to designate a different Accounting Period in the manual or in writing.

This means that as a Beggars Pizza franchisee, you will be on a weekly payment cycle for royalties and other fees. This differs from the typical monthly payment cycle seen in many franchise systems. The weekly cycle could impact your cash flow management, requiring you to ensure sufficient funds are available each week for the EFT payment.

Furthermore, the FDD states that Beggars Pizza can change the Accounting Period, which could mean more frequent payments. It is important to stay aware of any changes to the payment schedule to avoid late fees. Any payments or Gross Sales reports not received on time will be considered overdue, and Beggars Pizza will charge a late fee of 2% per month on the overdue amount or the maximum rate permitted by law.

Beggars Pizza will automatically withdraw the amounts due from the franchisee's designated bank account each Monday. The franchisee must maintain a designated bank account for the operation of the restaurant and all revenues must be deposited into this account within two days of receipt. The franchisee must also provide Beggars Pizza with the bank account information and authorization to withdraw funds via EFT upon execution of the franchise agreement.
