What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must operate the Restaurant only at the location identified in Exhibit A, referred to as the "Approved Location." If a location hasn't been secured at the time of the agreement, the franchisee has 90 days to lease or acquire a location, subject to Beggars Pizza's approval, as detailed in the Site Selection Addendum (Exhibit B). The franchisee cannot relocate the Restaurant without prior written approval from Beggars Pizza, which can be withheld at their discretion.

To secure an approved location, within 60 days of signing the Site Selection Addendum, the franchisee must submit a completed site review form, any other required information, and a letter of intent to Beggars Pizza. Beggars Pizza then has 30 days to approve or disapprove the site. No site is considered approved unless Beggars Pizza provides express written approval. Beggars Pizza may offer site selection guidelines and consultation, including up to two on-site evaluations at their expense. Additional on-site evaluations will be at the franchisee's expense, covering costs like travel, lodging, and meals.

Once a site is approved and obtained, the franchisee must provide Beggars Pizza with a copy of the executed lease within ten days. Beggars Pizza's approval of a site does not guarantee its suitability or potential for revenue or operational success. The franchisee is responsible for their own independent investigation of the site's suitability. The franchisee must also obtain all necessary permits, certificates, and licenses for the Restaurant's operation, including licenses to serve alcohol, business licenses, sales tax permits, health permits, building permits, handicap permits, and fire clearances, while also adhering to nutritional information disclosure laws.

The franchisee must operate the Restaurant according to Beggars Pizza's standards, keeping it open for the minimum hours and days specified by Beggars Pizza and adhering to the methods, standards, and specifications prescribed in the manual. The franchisee must purchase and install all fixtures, furnishings, supplies, and equipment as directed by Beggars Pizza, and must only use approved products and supplies that meet Beggars Pizza's standards. This includes purchasing certain items from Begcom or other designated suppliers to maintain uniform quality and image.
