What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, Item 22, which covers the franchise agreements, outlines several advertising and promotion requirements for franchisees. Specifically, section 7.4.12 states that Beggars Pizza has the sole discretion to determine acceptable and unacceptable advertising, with such determinations being binding. This means a franchisee must adhere to Beggars Pizza's advertising guidelines.

Section 7.4.13 requires franchisees to participate in all promotional programs developed by Beggars Pizza, including gift card, loyalty, and coupon programs, as prescribed in the Manual or in writing. This participation may involve selling gift cards, accepting gift cards from other locations, and participating in customer complaint programs, potentially at the franchisee's expense. Additionally, franchisees may need to install and use specific equipment or information systems to support these programs, also at their own cost. The franchisee may also be required to transfer gift card revenue to a centralized account managed by Beggars Pizza or a designated third party.

Section 7.4.14 mandates participation in online, electronic, or centralized ordering programs developed or designated by Beggars Pizza. This may require franchisees to install necessary fixtures, equipment, and information systems at their expense and pay associated fees to Beggars Pizza or a third-party provider. Furthermore, section 7.11 states that all advertising and promotional materials must bear Beggars Pizza's Proprietary Marks in the prescribed form, color, location, and manner. These stipulations ensure brand consistency and adherence to Beggars Pizza's marketing strategies.
