What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the SpeedLine Solutions Inc. Software License Agreement specifies that a franchisee cannot copy the software's documentation in any form or medium. However, there is an exception to this rule.
The exception allows the franchisee to use the documentation in conjunction with their use of the Installed Software and Online Services. This means that while franchisees cannot make copies of the documentation for other purposes, they are permitted to use it as needed to operate the Beggars Pizza point-of-sale system.
This exception is important because it ensures that Beggars Pizza franchisees have access to the information they need to effectively use the SpeedLine software. Without this exception, franchisees would be unable to consult the documentation while using the software, which could make it difficult to troubleshoot problems or learn new features. This exception is narrowly tailored to allow usage, but not reproduction, of the documentation.
