- 16.5 Assignment of Telephone Number.
Franchisee must cease using all telephone numbers and directory or other business listings used in connection with the Restaurant.
At Franchisor's option, Franchisee must assign to Franchisor all rights to such telephone numbers and directory and other business listings, and must sign all forms and documents required by Franchisor and any telephone company to effect such transfer.
Franchisee appoints Franchisor as Franchisee's true and lawful agent and attorney-in-fact with full power and authority for the sole purpose of taking such action as is necessary to complete such assignment and Franchisee must execute Exhibit E for such purpose.
This power of attorney will survive the expiration, termination, or transfer of the Agreement.
Franchisee is not entitled to any compensation from Franchisor if Franchisor exercises its rights or options under this Section 16.5.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchisor exercises its option to acquire the franchisee's telephone numbers, the franchisee must sign all forms and documents required by the franchisor and any telephone company to effect such transfer. To complete this action, the franchisee must execute Exhibit E.
Furthermore, the FDD states that the franchisee appoints Beggars Pizza as their true and lawful agent and attorney-in-fact with full power and authority for the sole purpose of taking such action as is necessary to complete such assignment. This power of attorney survives the expiration, termination, or transfer of the Franchise Agreement.
It is important to note that the Beggars Pizza franchisee is not entitled to any compensation from the franchisor if Beggars Pizza exercises its rights or options under Section 16.5, which covers the assignment of telephone numbers.
