What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor or its affiliate directs all advertising programs for the Brand Fund. This includes having sole discretion over the concepts, materials, and media used in these programs, as well as their placement and allocation.

This means that Beggars Pizza franchisees do not have control over the advertising strategies or materials used to promote the brand. While franchisees contribute to the Brand Fund, the franchisor decides how those funds are spent and what advertising approaches are taken. The franchisor is not obligated to ensure that advertising expenditures benefit each franchisee directly or proportionally to their contributions.

The Brand Fund is used to cover the costs of various advertising, marketing, and promotional activities. These activities include preparing and conducting radio, cable television, print, and Internet-based advertising campaigns, utilizing networking media sites, developing and maintaining a website, reviewing locally produced advertisements, and creating promotional materials. The fund also covers market research, sponsorships, website design, public relations, mystery shoppers, celebrity endorsements, trade shows, association dues, search engine optimization, and the employment of advertising agencies.

For a prospective Beggars Pizza franchisee, this indicates that they will have limited input on advertising strategies but will benefit from the franchisor's expertise in managing the Brand Fund. Franchisees should be aware that their contributions to the Brand Fund may not result in direct or immediate benefits to their specific location, as the fund is intended to maximize general public recognition of the Beggars Pizza system.
