- 8.4.2 Franchisor will have the right, but not the obligation, to develop, have developed for it, or designate (a) computer software programs that Franchisee must use in connection with the Computer System (the "Required Software") that Franchisee must install at Franchisee's expense, (b) updates, supplements, modifications, or enhancements to the Required Software that Franchisee must install at Franchisee's expense, (c) the tangible media upon which Franchisee will record data, and (d) the database file structure of the Computer System.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Beggars Pizza has the right to designate the database file structure of the computer system that franchisees must use. Specifically, Beggars Pizza may develop, have developed, or designate the database file structure of the Computer System. Franchisees are required to use this structure in connection with the Computer System.
Beggars Pizza may also specify the brands, types, and models of communication and computer systems that franchisees must use. This includes back office and point-of-sale systems, hardware, printers, backup systems, internet access, and security systems. Franchisees must also install any updates, supplements, modifications, or enhancements to the required software at their own expense.
At Beggars Pizza's request, franchisees must purchase or lease and maintain the Computer System and Required Software. Beggars Pizza can remotely retrieve and use data from the franchisee's systems. Franchisees must comply with Beggars Pizza's standards for all Computer System items and keep the system in good repair, with all compliance at the franchisee's sole cost and expense.
