Beggars_Pizza Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Franchisor sells such products through Begcom or other designated suppliers.
Franchisee acknowledges and agrees that such items are essential to the operation of the Restaurant.
Begcom is the designated supplier of certain additional food items and supplies (including, without limitation, cheeses, sausages, and paper products), some of which bear the Proprietary Marks and some of which do not bear the Proprietary Marks, and Franchisor may from time to time specify in the Manual or otherwise in writing certain other parties that will be designated suppliers for specified products, materials, supplies, paper goods, fixtures, furnishings and equipment used or sold at the Restaurant.
Franchisee acknowledges and agrees that it must purchase such items from Begcom or such other designated suppliers in order to assure the uniform quality and image associated with the Restaurant.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, commissary items are specific food and supply items that a franchisee is required to purchase from Begcom, the designated supplier, or other suppliers that Beggars Pizza specifies. These items include, but are not limited to, cheeses, sausages, and paper products. Some of these items may bear Beggars Pizza's proprietary marks, while others may not.
The requirement to purchase commissary items from designated suppliers is in place to ensure that all Beggars Pizza restaurants maintain a consistent level of quality and uphold the brand's image. This standardization is considered essential for the overall success and reputation of the Beggars Pizza system. Franchisees acknowledge that these items are essential to the operation of their restaurant.
By mandating the purchase of commissary items from approved sources, Beggars Pizza aims to control the quality and uniformity of the products used in its restaurants. This practice is common in franchising, as it helps maintain brand consistency across all locations. However, it also means that franchisees have limited flexibility in sourcing these items and must adhere to the franchisor's specified suppliers, potentially impacting their costs and profit margins.
Prospective franchisees should carefully review the Commissary Agreement (Exhibit D) and the list of designated suppliers to understand the full scope of required purchases and any associated costs. It is important to evaluate whether the pricing and terms offered by the designated suppliers are competitive and align with the franchisee's financial projections.
