What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, if Beggars Pizza requires a franchisee to purchase equipment and software that meets specific standards from an approved supplier, the franchisee is responsible for ensuring that the equipment and software meet those standards. Specifically, the franchisee must ensure SpeedLine is an approved supplier for the quoted equipment and software. The franchisee also has to meet SpeedLine's implementation criteria for site preparation, facilities, and specifications before implementing the equipment and software, and maintain these criteria afterward. The on-premises software can only be used at the location specified in the Quote and on the number of terminals that matches the number of SpeedLine Solutions software user licenses received. Any changes to the location or an increase in the number of terminals requires SpeedLine's prior written consent.

Furthermore, the Beggars Pizza franchisee acknowledges that the total amount owed as described in the Quote must be paid in full before SpeedLine provides the access code to activate the software. Payments can be made via pre-authorized credit or debit card, account debit, certified check, cashier's check, bank draft, money order, or other means approved in writing by SpeedLine. If a franchisee pays with a credit or debit card, the amount SpeedLine is required to pay to the credit card issuer will be added to the amount the franchisee owes SpeedLine.

The franchisee is also responsible for paying shipping, handling, and insurance costs for the equipment and on-premises software supplied by SpeedLine, F.O.B. SpeedLine's designated supply facility in Abbotsford, British Columbia or Lynden, Washington. The risk of loss or damage to the equipment and software transfers to the franchisee upon delivery to the common carrier. The franchisee is responsible for paying all applicable taxes, duties, and other governmental fees related to the sale of equipment and services, and the granting of the software license, based on SpeedLine's supply facility location and where the equipment and software will be used.

In practical terms, a prospective Beggars Pizza franchisee needs to carefully review the SpeedLine quote to understand the full costs and payment terms. They should also ensure their location meets SpeedLine's implementation criteria before installation. The franchisee bears the risk of loss or damage during shipping, so adequate insurance should be considered. Finally, any changes to the number of terminals or business location using the software require SpeedLine's approval, adding a layer of administrative process for future business adjustments.
