What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, all data provided by the franchisee, whether uploaded to or downloaded from Beggars Pizza's system, or obtained electronically, is owned exclusively by Beggars Pizza. Beggars Pizza can use this data in any manner they deem appropriate without compensating the franchisee. This includes consumer and transaction data collected during the operation of the restaurant, which remains Beggars Pizza's exclusive property even after the agreement terminates.

Copies or originals of this data must be provided to Beggars Pizza upon request. However, Beggars Pizza licenses the use of such data back to the franchisee at no additional cost, but only for the term of the Franchise Agreement and solely for use in connection with operating the Beggars Pizza restaurant.

This clause emphasizes Beggars Pizza's control over all data related to the franchise operation. While franchisees can use the data to run their restaurant during the agreement term, they must relinquish control and provide copies or originals to Beggars Pizza upon request. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to maintain consistency and quality control across all locations, as well as leverage data for marketing and strategic purposes.
