What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, managers are required to sign a Confidentiality and Non-Competition Agreement. This agreement acknowledges that Beggars Pizza has developed a distinctive system for its restaurants through significant investment. This system includes the establishment, operation, and promotion of Beggars Pizza restaurants, offering pizza, other food products, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption, carry-out, delivery, catering, and sales at temporary locations for special events. The system can be modified and improved by Beggars Pizza at any time.
The agreement binds the manager to protect the confidential information and trade secrets of Beggars Pizza. This includes methods, techniques, standards, specifications, policies, and procedures detailed in the operational manual. It also covers the distinctive decor, color schemes, special recipes, and menu items, as well as advertising and promotional programs. Managers, by signing this agreement, commit to upholding the standards and protecting the proprietary information that makes the Beggars Pizza system unique.
Furthermore, any person employed by the franchisee as a manager must attend and complete Beggars Pizza's training program to the franchisor's satisfaction within 90 days of their hire date. Franchisees, their managers, and other employees are also required to attend additional courses, seminars, and other training programs that Beggars Pizza may reasonably require from time to time. This ensures that all managers are properly trained in the Beggars Pizza system and are kept up-to-date with any changes or improvements to the system.
