What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beem Light Sauna FDD, Beem Light Sauna is not obligated to provide ongoing maintenance, repairs, upgrades, or updates for the Technology System. The franchisee is responsible for maintaining the Technology System in good working order at their own expense. This includes ensuring employees are adequately trained in its use and refraining from loading unauthorized programs. The franchisee is also responsible for any consequences arising from improper operation, maintenance, or upgrades of the Technology System.
Beem Light Sauna requires franchisees to obtain, maintain, and use a specified Technology System for various operational functions, including tracking orders, attendance, customer information, inventory, and generating sales reports. The Technology System, which costs between $5,500 and $7,500, includes hardware, software licenses, related equipment, and network connections. Franchisees must also pay a Technology Fee of $550 per month (or $450 per month during the three months before opening) to Beem Light Sauna for technology-related services, as well as a MindBody license fee of $599 per month.
While Beem Light Sauna and its vendors are not obligated to provide maintenance, third-party vendors may offer optional maintenance, updating, upgrading, or support contracts, estimated to cost around $2,500 per year. Franchisees must grant Beem Light Sauna unrestricted electronic access to the Technology System for data retrieval purposes. Additionally, Beem Light Sauna can periodically require franchisees to replace, upgrade, or update the Technology System at the franchisee's expense, with reasonable deadlines for implementation. This means that while Beem Light Sauna does not provide direct maintenance, franchisees may incur additional costs for updates and vendor support to keep the system operational and compliant with Beem Light Sauna's requirements.
