Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We or one of our affiliates may make or otherwise arrange loans to the Brand Fund in any year in which the balance of the Brand Fund is negative and charge a reasonable rate of interest. The amounts loaned to the Brand Fund will be repaid from future contributions to the Brand Fund in the year the loan is made or in subsequent years.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beem Light Sauna's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchisor or its affiliates loan money to the Brand Fund, these amounts will be repaid from future contributions to the Brand Fund. This repayment will occur either in the year the loan is made or in subsequent years. The franchisor may also charge a reasonable rate of interest on these loans.

This arrangement means that franchisees' contributions to the Brand Fund could be used to repay loans made by Beem Light Sauna or its affiliates, along with any accrued interest. While this ensures the Brand Fund remains solvent, it also means that a portion of the mandatory contribution of up to 4% (currently 2%) of Gross Sales could be directed towards debt repayment rather than solely on marketing and promotional activities.

Prospective franchisees should consider the potential impact of these loan repayments on the Brand Fund's ability to support marketing initiatives. It would be prudent to inquire about the history of loans to the Brand Fund, the interest rates charged, and the repayment schedules to fully understand how these loans might affect the fund's resources and the marketing support available to franchisees.
