What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beehive Homes' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the transfer fee is due at the time of the approved transfer. The standard transfer fee is either $2,500 or $15,000, depending on the type of transfer.
Specifically, the $2,500 fee applies to certain permitted transfers, while the $15,000 fee applies to other approved transfers. In the event of an unauthorized transfer, Beehive Homes charges a significantly higher transfer fee, equal to 10 times the amount of Franchise Fees paid for the highest 12 of the 18 months preceding the transfer.
Additionally, if Beehive Homes arranges the transferee for the franchisee, the franchisee must pay Beehive Homes a nonrefundable commission equal to six percent (6%) of the gross transfer price, in addition to the applicable transfer fee. These fees are intended to reimburse Beehive Homes for their expenses related to the transfer process, such as legal, accounting, and credit investigation costs.
