What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beehive Homes Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are restricted from being employed by or having a financial interest in similar businesses, but this restriction does not apply to other Beehive Homes franchises. Specifically, the FDD states that neither the franchisee nor any equity owner can be employed by or have a financial interest in any other business providing similar services, unless that business is another Beehive Homes franchise.
This clause protects Beehive Homes' interests by preventing franchisees from using their knowledge and experience gained from the franchise to benefit a competing business. However, it explicitly allows involvement with other Beehive Homes franchises, which suggests that the franchisor sees value in franchisees potentially owning or working with multiple locations within the system.
For a prospective franchisee, this means they could potentially invest in or work for multiple Beehive Homes locations without violating the conflict of interest clause. This could be an attractive option for those looking to expand their investment within the Beehive Homes system. However, it is important to carefully review the franchise agreement and discuss this possibility with Beehive Homes to fully understand any limitations or requirements that may apply.
