What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beehive Homes' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is solely responsible for obtaining all required permits and licensing for their location. While Beehive Homes provides general architectural and design drawings as guidelines, the franchisee must engage their own professionals, such as architects, attorneys, and contractors, to prepare final plans and construct the improvements. These final plans must be approved in writing by Beehive Homes to ensure compliance with trade dress guidelines before the franchisee submits them for building permits.
This means that prospective Beehive Homes franchisees should be prepared to manage the entire permitting and licensing process themselves, including all associated costs. This includes engaging and paying for the services of various professionals to ensure that the location meets all local requirements and Beehive Homes' standards. The franchisee bears the risk of any delays or complications in obtaining the necessary permits and licenses.
Beehive Homes explicitly states that it will not be a party to any agreements related to the construction, furnishing, equipping, and supplying of the Home, and will have no liability in connection with these agreements. This underscores the franchisee's independent responsibility for all aspects of the construction and setup of their Beehive Homes location. Franchisees should carefully consider these responsibilities and associated costs when evaluating the Beehive Homes franchise opportunity.
