What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beehive Homes' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee fails to maintain the interior and exterior of their Beehive Homes location according to the franchisor's standards, Beehive Homes will provide a written notice with a 72-hour period to correct the issue. If the franchisee does not cure the default within that 72-hour notice period, Beehive Homes has the right to enter the premises and correct the maintenance issues themselves.
The FDD states that Beehive Homes can take action without being considered guilty of trespass, negligence, or fault, and without affecting any other remedies available to them. The franchisee is responsible for covering the costs of these corrections, which are payable to Beehive Homes immediately upon demand. This ensures that all Beehive Homes locations meet the brand's standards for cleanliness, orderliness, sanitation, and repair.
This clause is important for prospective franchisees as it highlights the importance of maintaining the Beehive Homes location to the franchisor's standards. Failure to do so can result in Beehive Homes stepping in to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs at the franchisee's expense. This could potentially create an unexpected financial burden for the franchisee if they are unable to keep up with the required maintenance. It is common in franchising for franchisors to have such clauses to protect their brand and ensure consistent quality across all locations.
