What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Beehive Homes Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are restricted from engaging in businesses that offer similar services to Beehive Homes. Specifically, during the term of the franchise agreement, a franchisee (or any Equity Owner) cannot be employed by or have any financial or ownership interest in another business providing services described in the franchise agreement or the Manual, unless that business is another Beehive Homes franchise.

This restriction ensures that franchisees remain fully committed to their Beehive Homes location and do not divert resources or expertise to competing ventures. It also protects Beehive Homes' market position and prevents franchisees from using the franchisor's confidential information or business practices to benefit a competitor. The FDD also states that franchisees must ensure their resident manager and all employees sign Beehive Homes' standard Non-Competition and Non-Disclosure Agreement, further safeguarding the franchisor's interests.

For a prospective franchisee, this means that you and any equity owners in your franchise entity must be entirely dedicated to the Beehive Homes business during the term of the agreement. You cannot operate or invest in any similar residential care or assisted living business without violating the agreement. This is a fairly standard clause in franchise agreements to protect the brand and prevent conflicts of interest. It is important to carefully review the definition of 'services of the type described in this Agreement or in the Manual' to fully understand the scope of the non-compete obligations.
