What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beehive Homes' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for covering the costs of meals and lodging during the initial training. While Beehive Homes covers the cost of round trip travel for the franchisee, the franchisee must pay for their own meals and lodging. Additionally, the franchisee is responsible for the travel, meals, and lodging expenses of their resident manager during the initial training. If additional people need to be trained, the franchisee must also cover their travel, meals, and lodging costs. There is no separate charge for the instruction itself.
This means a prospective Beehive Homes franchisee should budget for these expenses when planning for their initial training. These costs can vary depending on the training location and duration, so it's important to get an estimate from Beehive Homes. This is a fairly standard practice in the franchise industry, where franchisees often bear the costs of their own travel and lodging for training, while the franchisor covers the cost of the training program itself.
Furthermore, if a franchisee changes resident managers after the initial training, the new resident manager must undergo training based on the initial outline. If this training cannot be performed at the franchisee's Beehive Homes location, a regional service representative from Beehive Homes will conduct the training for a fee of at least $300.00 per day, inclusive. This provides an alternative training option but adds an additional expense for the franchisee to consider.
