What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beehive Homes' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Beehive Homes will provide assistance and guidance in negotiating construction, equipment, and supply contracts for the construction, furnishing, and equipping of the Home, upon the franchisee's request. However, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for the terms of all contracts and for exercising adequate supervision. Beehive Homes does not assist in construction, remodeling, or decorating of the site.
This means that while Beehive Homes offers support in the negotiation phase, the franchisee has the final say and responsibility for the contracts. This is a common arrangement in franchising, where the franchisor provides guidance but the franchisee operates as an independent business owner. The franchisee needs to carefully review all contracts and ensure they are favorable, as Beehive Homes is not liable for the contract terms.
Prospective franchisees should consider this when budgeting and planning for their Beehive Homes location. While Beehive Homes provides an itemization of all equipment and supplies to be used in the operation of the Home, franchisees should still conduct their own due diligence to ensure they are getting the best possible deals on construction, equipment, and supplies. It would be prudent to seek legal counsel to review these contracts, given the franchisee's ultimate responsibility for the terms.
