What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beehive Homes's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor's assistance with healthcare licensing and certification is limited. While Beehive Homes does provide support in various aspects of setting up and operating a franchise, it appears that healthcare licensing and certification of the Home and employees does not generally cause any significant delays in the process.

Beehive Homes offers assistance before the opening of your Bee Hive Home, such as granting a nonexclusive license to use their trademarks, providing general architectural and design drawings, and delivering a standard sign. They also provide training in the practices, policies, and procedures for operating a Bee Hive Home, which you and your resident manager are required to complete. Additionally, Beehive Homes offers opening supervision to assist in the preparation and opening of the Home.

However, franchisees are responsible for conforming their site to applicable ordinances, codes, and zoning. The FDD states that franchisees are responsible for engaging an architect and engineer to prepare final specifications and drawings for approval by local government agencies and the franchisor. While Beehive Homes will provide assistance and guidance in negotiating construction, equipment, and supply contracts, franchisees are solely responsible for the terms of all contracts and exercising adequate supervision.

Prospective franchisees should confirm with Beehive Homes the extent of support they offer regarding healthcare licensing and certification to fully understand their responsibilities and what assistance they can expect from the franchisor.
