Does Beehive Homes allow franchisees to purchase items that meet specifications from any source?
Beehive_Homes Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
YOU have no obligation to purchase or lease goods, services, supplies, fixtures, equipment, inventory, computer hardware and software, real estate, or comparable items related to establishing or operating the franchised business either from US, OUR designee, or suppliers approved by US.
For certain items of furniture, fixtures and equipment, and supplies and materials, WE may provide you with specifications which may include minimum standards for performance, warranties, design, appearance and other restrictions. YOU may purchase items which meet specifications from any source. Specifications are provided to YOU after signing the Franchise Agreement and are found in OUR Owner/Operator Training Outline. WE currently do not
maintain a list of approved suppliers and do not maintain criteria for approving suppliers of the items listed in this paragraph. Any supplier which is able to provide these items meeting OUR specifications is, in effect, an approved supplier. YOU may determine which suppliers meet OUR specifications without OUR prior approval. However, any determination by YOU is subject to OUR review.
All advertising used by YOU must be approved in advance by US for conformity with the trade dress standards of Bee Hive Homes.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beehive Homes' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not obligated to purchase or lease goods, services, supplies, fixtures, equipment, inventory, computer hardware and software, real estate, or comparable items from Beehive Homes, their designee, or approved suppliers. For certain items like furniture, fixtures, equipment, supplies, and materials, Beehive Homes may provide specifications that include minimum standards for performance, warranties, design, appearance, and other restrictions.
Beehive Homes franchisees have the option to purchase items that meet these specifications from any source. Beehive Homes does not maintain a list of approved suppliers or criteria for approving suppliers for these items. Therefore, any supplier that can provide items meeting Beehive Homes' specifications is effectively considered an approved supplier.
The franchisee can determine which suppliers meet Beehive Homes' specifications without prior approval, but this determination is subject to review by Beehive Homes. All advertising used by the franchisee must be approved in advance by Beehive Homes to ensure it conforms to the brand's trade dress standards.
This arrangement provides Beehive Homes franchisees with flexibility in sourcing required items while ensuring that the items meet the franchisor's standards for quality and brand consistency. However, franchisees should be prepared for Beehive Homes to review their supplier choices to ensure compliance with the established specifications.
