What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Beef O Bradys Franchise Disclosure Document, if Beef O Bradys does not exercise its option to purchase the Family Sports Pub, the franchisee must destroy all remaining unused gift certificates. The franchisee must then provide a signed and notarized statement attesting to the quantity (dollar amount) of unredeemed gift certificates outstanding and a method for reimbursement to franchise members of the Beef O Bradys System for a period of one year from the date of store closing.

Beef O Bradys requires that reimbursement must be guaranteed by funds held in escrow or affidavit. This ensures that even after the franchise agreement ends, there is a mechanism in place to handle outstanding financial obligations to customers who hold unused gift certificates.

This requirement protects consumers and maintains the integrity of the Beef O Bradys brand. It also places a specific financial responsibility on the franchisee to manage and account for outstanding gift certificates upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement. Prospective franchisees should understand this obligation and factor it into their financial planning when considering exiting the Beef O Bradys system.
