What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beef O Bradys's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee transfers ownership of their Family Sports Pub, a transfer fee of $20,000 is required. Half of this fee, amounting to $10,000, must be paid before the transferee's trainees begin their training program.
This upfront payment ensures that Beef O Bradys covers expenses related to the transfer process and the training of up to two designated operators from the transferee's team. One of these operators must be a managerial employee responsible for the kitchen operations.
This policy is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as transfer fees are used to offset the franchisor's costs associated with vetting and training new owners. Prospective Beef O Bradys franchisees should factor this cost into their financial planning when considering a transfer.
