Note 1: If we request, you must provide initial training, opening on-site assistance or additional or refresher training to new franchisees or existing franchisees. If we require you to provide training to another franchisee, we will pay you an amount which we determine, in our sole discretion (which will represent your cost of providing such training plus a reasonable fee).

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beef O Bradys's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchisor requests a franchisee to provide initial training, on-site opening assistance, or additional training to either new or existing franchisees, the franchisee will be compensated. The compensation amount is determined by Beef O Bradys at their sole discretion. This amount is intended to cover the franchisee's costs associated with providing the training, in addition to a reasonable fee.
For a prospective Beef O Bradys franchisee, this means that while they may be required to train other franchisees, they will receive compensation for their time and expenses. The franchisor has the authority to decide the compensation amount, which should cover the costs incurred by the franchisee providing the training, along with a reasonable fee for their services.
It is important to note that the FDD states that the compensation will be determined by Beef O Bradys in their "sole discretion." This implies that while the compensation is intended to cover costs and include a fee, the franchisee has limited negotiation power over the amount. A prospective franchisee should inquire about the typical compensation structure and the factors considered when determining the amount to better understand the potential income and obligations related to training other franchisees.
