Is exclusive use of designated 'System Supplies' required for a Bee Organized franchise?

Bee_Organized Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We license a system (the "System") for the operation of a Bee Organized business (each, a "Franchised Business" or "Bee Organized Business") that provides home and business organization services, life transition and moving assistance, and related concierge services (the "Approved Services and Products"). The System also features and requires, as designated by us, your exclusive use of certain home organization solutions, products, supplies, software and technology systems, warranties, equipment, vehicles, unforms, and materials that we designate (the "System Supplies"). The System is identified by the Bee Organized trademark and such other trademarks, logos, and tradedress that we may designate, modify or adopt from time to time and as same may or may not be registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (collectively, the "Licensed Marks"). You must develop and operate your Bee Organized Business in conformity with the specifications, procedures, criteria, and requirements that we designate in our confidential operations manual and other proprietary manuals that we designate and as we may supplement and modify from time to time (collectively, the "Manuals"). From time to time, we may modify, add to or discontinue our designated Approved Services and Products, System Supplies, and/or our specifications, methods and procedures for the service, marketing and sale of Approved Services and Products. You may only offer and provide the Approved Services and Products on-site at client homes and client designated locations within your designated operating territory.

Subject to applicable laws and regulations, you may administratively operate your Bee Organized Business from a home based office. You may be required to lease a commercial storage unit to store equipment and supplies and to park your vehicles. As your Bee Organized Business grows we expect that you will lease a non-retail commercial facility to maintain supplies, manage employees, stage service visits, and park vehicles.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bee Organized's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to exclusively use specific 'System Supplies' designated by the franchisor. These System Supplies encompass a range of items, including home organization solutions, products, supplies, software and technology systems, warranties, equipment, vehicles, uniforms, and materials. This requirement is a core component of the Bee Organized System.

The FDD emphasizes that a franchisee's right to operate under the Bee Organized System is contingent upon using only the designated System Supplies within their operating territory. This mandate ensures consistency and quality control across all Bee Organized franchises, aligning with common practices in the franchise industry where brand uniformity is a key element.

Prospective Bee Organized franchisees should carefully consider the implications of this requirement. It means they will not have the freedom to source their own supplies or negotiate with alternative vendors. While this may limit flexibility, it also ensures that franchisees are using products and systems that Bee Organized has approved and that align with the brand's standards. Franchisees should inquire about the process for designating and updating System Supplies, as the FDD indicates that Bee Organized may modify or discontinue these items from time to time.
