What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bee Organized's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a 'Competitive Business' is defined as any business that is either the same as or similar to a Bee Organized Business, or any business that offers, sells, and/or provides home organization services. This definition is important for franchisees to understand, as it directly relates to the restrictive covenants and non-compete obligations outlined in the franchise agreement.
During the term of the agreement, a Bee Organized franchisee is prohibited from owning or having any legal or equitable interest in a Competitive Business, with a minor exception of owning 3% or less in a publicly traded company that is a Competitive Business. Franchisees are also restricted from operating, managing, funding, or performing services for a Competitive Business, whether as an employee, officer, director, manager, consultant, or in any similar capacity.
These restrictions are designed to protect Bee Organized's market position and prevent franchisees from using the franchisor's confidential information and business systems to benefit a competing business. Prospective franchisees should carefully review these restrictions and consider how they might impact their ability to engage in other business ventures, both during and after the franchise agreement.
