Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You or your designated Manager must attend training, but we do not charge an additional fee for this training or service unless more than three persons are attending. You will, however, be required to pay the travel and living expenses for you, your designated Manager, and your employee(s) who attend training. All training, except any on-site training, will be held at our corporate headquarters in Costa Mesa, California virtually, or at another designated location. You must complete this training to our satisfaction or repeat this training, at no cost, prior to commencing operation of your Beauty Bungalows Franchise.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beauty Bungalows's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees typically do not have to pay an additional fee for the initial training program. The franchisor specifies that while attendance to the training is mandatory for the franchisee or their designated manager, no additional fee is charged unless more than three people are attending. However, franchisees are responsible for covering the travel and living expenses incurred by themselves, their manager, and any employees attending the training.

The initial training is conducted or supervised by the CEO, Traci Hawkins, or by staff trainers with at least one year of experience in the salon services industry. The training program utilizes various methods, including the Operations Manual, virtual training sessions via video conference, online databases, and live instruction. The training sessions are held at least once per quarter at the Beauty Bungalows corporate headquarters in Costa Mesa, California, virtually, or at another designated location.

Franchisees must complete the training to the franchisor's satisfaction before commencing operations. While there is no mandatory training requirement after the initial program, franchisees may be required to attend mandatory conferences, which may involve attendance fees and travel expenses. Beauty Bungalows may also provide on-site initial training at the franchise location within the first four weeks of operation at no additional cost, although they are not obligated to do so.
