What is my obligation regarding the confidentiality of Beauty Bungalows' Confidential Information?

The Confidential Information is proprietary, involves trade secrets of the Company, and is disclosed to me solely on the condition that I agree, and I do hereby agree, that I shall hold in strict confidence all Confidential Information and all other information designated by the Company as confidential.
Unless the Company otherwise agrees in writing, I will disclose and/or use the Confidential Information only in connection with my duties as [INSERT TITLE] of the Franchisee, and will continue not to disclose any such information even after I cease to be in that position and will not use any such information even after I cease to be in that position unless I can demonstrate that such information has become generally known or easily accessible other than by the breach of an obligation of Franchisee under the Franchise Agreement.
I will surrender any material containing some or all of the Confidential Information to the Company, upon request, or upon conclusion of the use for which the information or material may have been furnished.
Except as otherwise approved in writing by the Company, I shall not, while in my position with the Franchisee, for myself, or through, on behalf of, or in conjunction with any person, persons, partnership, corporation, or limited liability company, own, maintain, engage in, be employed by, or have any interest in any other business which: develops, operates, constructs, manages, provides, rents or leases studios, suites, offices or rooms to individuals, businesses or groups that provide spa services, barbering, beauty services, cosmetology services, wellness services, personal care services, massage services, nail care services, skin care services, teeth-whitening services, skin tanning services, hair loss treatments services and hair treatment services and other similar personal services. I also agree that I will not undertake any action to divert business from the Franchised Business to any Competing Business or solicit any of the former customers or employees of Franchisee for any competitive business purpose.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beauty Bungalows' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, as a franchisee, you have strict obligations regarding the confidentiality of Beauty Bungalows' proprietary information. This information, considered trade secrets, is disclosed to you solely under the condition that you maintain its confidentiality. This means you must agree to hold all Confidential Information in strict confidence, along with any other information Beauty Bungalows designates as confidential.
Unless Beauty Bungalows provides written consent otherwise, you are only allowed to disclose or use the Confidential Information in connection with your duties as the franchisee. This restriction extends beyond your time as a franchisee; even after you cease being in that position, you must continue to protect the confidentiality of the information. The only exception is if you can prove that the information has become generally known or easily accessible through means other than a breach of your obligations under the Franchise Agreement.
Upon request from Beauty Bungalows or at the conclusion of your use of the information, you must surrender any material containing the Confidential Information. Furthermore, while you are in your position with the franchisee, you are prohibited from owning, maintaining, engaging in, or having any interest in a Competing Business, unless expressly approved in writing by Beauty Bungalows. This includes businesses that offer similar services such as spa, beauty, or wellness services. You are also prohibited from diverting business away from the franchised Beauty Bungalows location to any Competing Business or soliciting Beauty Bungalows' customers or employees for any competitive business purpose.
These confidentiality and restrictive covenant obligations are typical in franchising to protect the brand's competitive advantage and proprietary systems. Prospective Beauty Bungalows franchisees should carefully review the sample Confidentiality and Restrictive Covenant Agreement in Exhibit G of the FDD and understand the full scope of these restrictions before signing the Franchise Agreement.
