What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beauty Bungalows' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a 'Lead' is defined specifically within the context of franchise transfers and the associated Lead Fee. A 'Lead' refers to a person or entity who has contacted Beauty Bungalows (or been contacted by them, including authorized representatives or affiliates) regarding the possibility of purchasing a Beauty Bungalows franchise for a new market area or territory. This also includes leads located in Beauty Bungalows' contact management system (CMS). However, the definition of 'Lead' excludes existing Beauty Bungalows franchisees.
This definition is important because the Lead Fee compensates Beauty Bungalows for the lost opportunity of potentially granting a new franchise to the Lead. Beauty Bungalows invests significant resources each year to attract and identify these Leads. However, the Lead Fee does not apply if Beauty Bungalows directly shares a Lead with a franchisee before Beauty Bungalows has had significant contact with the Lead regarding purchasing a franchise.
For a prospective Beauty Bungalows franchisee, understanding this definition is crucial because it affects the financial implications of transferring a franchise. If a transfer involves a 'Lead' as defined in the FDD, a Lead Fee may be applicable, impacting the overall cost of the transfer. Franchisees should also note that 'contact' can occur in various forms, including in person, in writing, by email, by telephone, or by CMS, broadening the scope of what constitutes a 'Lead.'
