What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beauty Bungalows FDD, the franchisee is responsible for securing a site, either through lease or purchase, that meets Beauty Bungalows's standards. While Beauty Bungalows does not typically own the premises and lease it to the franchisee, they will provide advice about the negotiation of the lease or purchase of a location. The FDD specifies that the site must meet minimum requirements detailed in the manuals for square footage, layout, and visibility.
Beauty Bungalows offers assistance in the site selection process by considering factors such as population density, traffic patterns, and proximity to other Beauty Bungalows locations. The franchisee must secure an approved site by signing a lease or purchase agreement within 90 days of the franchise agreement. An extension of this deadline is possible at Beauty Bungalows's discretion, subject to a $2,500 extension fee and the execution of a general release.
It's important to note that Beauty Bungalows is not acting as a direct representative or attorney in lease negotiations, and their assistance does not constitute a warranty regarding the lease or purchase. The franchisee bears the responsibility for site selection, but Beauty Bungalows will provide guidance and approval to ensure the location aligns with their standards and criteria. A prospective franchisee should consult Sections 4 and 10 of the Franchise Agreement for further details.
