What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beard Papas's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor grants the franchisee the right to operate a Beard Papas shop at a single, approved location within a designated territory. The specific geographic boundaries or description of this designated territory will be outlined in Schedule 1 of the Franchise Agreement. This territory is defined once the franchisee secures a shop location that Beard Papas approves.
For franchisees entering into a Multi-Unit Development Agreement with Beard Papas, a Development Area will be designated. All shops developed under this agreement must be located within this Development Area. Similar to single-unit franchisees, the Designated Territory for each shop will be defined in the Franchise Agreement once a shop location within the Development Area is approved by Beard Papas. The franchisor's approval of future shop locations under a Multi-Unit Development Agreement will be based on their current site selection criteria.
Beard Papas also requires franchisees to operate their franchised business in accordance with the manuals provided, as well as all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Beard Papas retains the right to supplement, modify, and update these manuals at any time. Franchisees must also obtain Beard Papas's approval for their shop location. If a Designated Territory is agreed upon before a shop location is selected, the franchisee must locate their shop within that Designated Territory at a site approved by Beard Papas.
