What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beard Papas's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee chooses to delegate management functions, the Operating Manager is required to supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Franchised Business onsite at the Shop Facility. The Operating Manager is defined as the manager designated by the franchisee or the franchisee's Managing Owner, who is responsible for the onsite supervision and management of the Franchised Business's daily operations at the franchisee's Shop Facility.
To qualify as an Operating Manager, the individual must meet several requirements. They must meet all of Beard Papas's minimum training and brand quality control standards for managers, as detailed in the Operations Manual. Additionally, they must successfully complete Beard Papas's initial training program and sign a Confidentiality Agreement. Furthermore, the Operating Manager must agree in writing to assume responsibility for the on-site management and supervision of the Franchised Business.
The FDD also states that if the Operating Manager is a family member of the franchisee or an owner, they must also sign and agree to be bound by the terms of the Owner and Spouse Agreement and Guaranty. This ensures that all individuals involved in the management of the Beard Papas franchise are committed to upholding the standards and obligations set forth by the franchisor.
