What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beard Papas's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an Operating Manager must meet several minimum standards and criteria. The Operating Manager is responsible for supervising and managing the day-to-day operations of the franchised business on-site.

To qualify, the Operating Manager must meet all of Beard Papas's minimum training and brand quality control standards and criteria for managers, as detailed in the Operations Manual. They must also successfully complete Beard Papas's initial training program. Additionally, the Operating Manager is required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement, ensuring the protection of Beard Papas's proprietary information. Finally, the Operating Manager must agree in writing to assume responsibility for the on-site management and supervision of the Franchised Business.

If the Operating Manager is a family member of the franchisee or an owner, they must also sign and agree to be bound by the terms of the Owner and Spouse Agreement and Guaranty. If the shop is not being managed by a Managing Owner or an Operating Manager who has satisfactorily completed the Training Program, Beard Papas is authorized to appoint a manager to maintain operations, but is not required to do so.
