What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beard Papas's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees have specific obligations regarding the Operations Manual. Franchisees must keep the Operations Manual confidential and maintain all its files, data, and information in a secure, protected state, following any directions from Beard Papas. The official version of the Operations Manual is the one maintained by Beard Papas.

Upon termination or transfer of the franchise agreement, the franchisee must return the Operations Manual, including all parts, supplements, and copies, to Beard Papas. The franchisee must also cease using the Operations Manual and the confidential information contained within.

These restrictions are typical in franchising to protect the franchisor's proprietary information and maintain consistency across all franchise locations. A prospective Beard Papas franchisee should understand these obligations and ensure they have systems in place to protect the confidentiality of the Operations Manual and return it promptly if the franchise agreement ends.
