Your Shop must be equipped with branded and unbranded furniture, fixtures, and equipment that we designate and that meet our standards and specifications. You may purchase unbranded furniture and fixtures from any supplier of your choosing, provided that the furniture and fixtures meet our specifications and standards, which may also include specified manufacturers, brands and models. If the furniture and fixtures that we designate are specified to be branded with the Licensed Marks, then you may only purchase them from our designated exclusive suppliers. You must purchase ovens which must operate at the settings that we provide, as well as other equipment as set forth in our Manuals.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beard Papas Franchise Disclosure Document, the brand mandates specific standards and specifications for the equipment used in its shops, as detailed in its manuals. Franchisees are required to equip their shops with both branded and unbranded furniture, fixtures, and equipment that meet Beard Papas' standards. While franchisees can source unbranded items from any supplier, provided they meet the set specifications, branded items must be purchased exclusively from designated suppliers. The manuals also specify that ovens must operate at settings provided by Beard Papas.
Prospective franchisees need to be aware that the Beard Papas manuals contain detailed specifications for all equipment, technology systems, and services. Franchisees must strictly adhere to these guidelines, as well as the designated supply sources. This ensures uniformity and quality across all Beard Papas locations. Changes to these specifications or supplier lists will be communicated through various means, including written notices, electronic correspondence, and updates to the manuals.
If a franchisee wishes to use an alternate supplier not already approved by Beard Papas, they must submit a written request for approval, along with any requested information, samples, and testing data. Beard Papas may charge a fee to cover the costs of evaluating the proposed supplier. The approval process considers factors such as the supplier's ability to meet Beard Papas' standards, quality control measures, and the overall benefit to the Beard Papas system. Beard Papas has the right to deny approval at its discretion. This rigorous process ensures that all suppliers meet the brand's standards for quality and consistency.
