What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beard Papas's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and updates of their computer systems. Beard Papas requires franchisees to purchase, license, and use designated computer, point of sale, business management, and ordering systems, including a Clover point of sale system. Franchisees must also maintain a computer system on-site at their shop location.

The FDD states that Beard Papas places no contractual obligations on themselves to maintain, repair, update, or upgrade the franchisee's computer systems. The estimated costs for the maintenance, repair, and updating of these designated computer systems range from $1,500 to $2,000 per year.

Furthermore, franchisees are required to provide Beard Papas with independent access to all information and data transacted, collected, and stored by the franchised business on the Business Management Systems, computer systems, and otherwise. This means that while franchisees bear the responsibility for maintaining their systems, Beard Papas retains the right to access the data generated by those systems.
