What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beard Papas Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee for both a Kiosk Shop and a Stand-Alone Shop is $45,000. This fee is non-refundable, and Beard Papas does not offer financing for any portion of the initial fees. This fee grants the franchisee the right to operate a Beard Papas shop under the terms of the franchise agreement.
For franchisees who sign a Multi-Unit Development Agreement, which allows them to develop multiple Beard Papas shops, the initial franchise fee is discounted. If the agreement authorizes the development of three to four shops, the initial franchise fee is reduced to $33,200. For agreements authorizing five to ten shops, the initial franchise fee is further discounted to $29,900. These discounted fees apply to the first shop developed under the Multi-Unit Development Agreement.
It is important to note that while the initial franchise fee is a one-time payment, franchisees will also incur other costs, such as construction and leasehold improvements, lease deposits, and rent. These costs can vary depending on the location and type of shop (Kiosk or Stand-Alone). The FDD emphasizes the importance of carefully reviewing the estimated initial investment tables to understand the full scope of financial commitments involved in opening a Beard Papas franchise.
Beard Papas does not require or accept payment of any initial franchise fees until the franchisee has received all pre-opening and initial training obligations and is open for business. For franchisees opening multiple locations under a Multi-Unit Development Agreement, the franchise fee will be released proportionally with respect to each franchise outlet opened, ensuring that Beard Papas meets its pre-opening obligations for each location.
