What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bb.Q Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bb.Q Chicken has the right to electronically inspect and monitor information concerning a franchisee's business. Bb.Q Chicken requires franchisees to install and maintain specific equipment and telecommunications lines that allow them to access and retrieve data from the point-of-sale system or other required computer hardware and software. This access enables Bb.Q Chicken to monitor sales results and other information stored in the franchisee's systems.

Bb.Q Chicken specifies that it is a material default of the franchise agreement if a franchisee fails to maintain the required equipment, telecommunications lines, and communication methods in operational condition and accessible to Bb.Q Chicken at all times during the term of the agreement. Bb.Q Chicken retains the right to access this information at the times and in the manner they specify.

This level of access and monitoring is fairly common in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to ensure brand standards are being met, track sales and performance, and provide support to franchisees. However, prospective franchisees should carefully consider the implications of providing such extensive access to their business data and systems, and ensure they understand the franchisor's policies regarding data privacy and security.
