Answer from 2025 FDD Document

7.4.2 If you desire to purchase, lease or use any products or other items from an unapproved supplier, you shall submit to us a written request for such approval, or shall request the supplier itself to do so. We reserve the right to require you or the supplier to reimburse our costs related to evaluation and testing. You shall not purchase or lease from any supplier until and unless such supplier has been approved in writing by us. We shall have the right to require that our representatives be permitted to inspect the proposed supplier's facilities, and that samples from the supplier be delivered, either to us or to an independent laboratory designated by us, for testing. We reserve the right, at our option, to re-inspect from time to time the facilities and products of any such approved supplier and to revoke our approval upon the

supplier's failure to continue to meet any of our then-current criteria. Nothing herein shall be construed to require us to approve any particular supplier.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bb.Q Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee who wishes to purchase from a supplier not already approved must submit a written request for approval to Bb.Q Chicken. Alternatively, the supplier can submit the request themselves. Bb.Q Chicken reserves the right to require the franchisee or the supplier to cover the costs associated with the evaluation and testing of the potential new supplier. The franchisee cannot purchase or lease from the unapproved supplier until Bb.Q Chicken provides written approval.

Bb.Q Chicken also has the right to inspect the supplier's facilities and request samples for testing, either directly or through an independent laboratory. This rigorous process allows Bb.Q Chicken to maintain quality control and uniformity across all franchise locations. Furthermore, Bb.Q Chicken retains the right to re-inspect approved suppliers periodically and revoke approval if the supplier fails to meet the current criteria.

It is important to note that Bb.Q Chicken is not obligated to approve any particular supplier. This clause protects Bb.Q Chicken's interests and ensures they can maintain their brand standards. This process is fairly standard in franchising, as franchisors need to ensure consistent quality and protect their brand reputation. Franchisees should factor in the time and potential costs associated with getting a new supplier approved when making purchasing decisions.
