What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bb.Q Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bb.Q Chicken can access and retrieve any information stored on a franchisee's point-of-sale system or other required computer hardware and software. This access allows Bb.Q Chicken to electronically inspect and monitor information concerning the franchisee's business, including sales results and any other data contained within the system. The franchisee is obligated to maintain the equipment, telecommunications lines, and communication methods necessary for this access, ensuring they are operational and accessible to Bb.Q Chicken at all times during the franchise term. Failure to maintain this accessibility constitutes a material default under the Franchise Agreement. Bb.Q Chicken also has the right to specify or require certain brands, types, makes, and/or models of computer systems and hardware.
This level of access and monitoring is a standard practice in franchising, allowing Bb.Q Chicken to maintain quality control, ensure compliance with system standards, and provide support to franchisees. By monitoring sales data, Bb.Q Chicken can identify trends, offer targeted marketing support, and ensure that franchisees are adhering to brand standards. The requirement for franchisees to use approved point-of-sale systems and to keep them accessible ensures that Bb.Q Chicken receives consistent and reliable data from all locations.
For a prospective Bb.Q Chicken franchisee, this means they must invest in and maintain a point-of-sale system that meets Bb.Q Chicken's specifications. They should budget not only for the initial purchase and installation but also for ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and telecommunications costs. Furthermore, franchisees should be aware that Bb.Q Chicken will have continuous access to their sales data and other business information stored in the system. This underscores the importance of understanding and complying with all technology-related requirements outlined in the Franchise Agreement and operations manual.
