What are Bb.Q Chicken franchisees expected to do regarding delivery vehicles?

Bb_Q_Chicken Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

If we permit you to provide catering and/or delivery services, we have the right to require you to have temporary signage or "wraps" placed on each delivery vehicle. We expect that all delivery vehicles will be kept clean, in good working order and properly insured. You must require that each person providing those services comply with all laws, regulations and rules of the road and use due care and caution operating and maintaining the motor vehicles. Except as described in this paragraph, we do not have any standards or exercise control over any motor vehicle that you use. You are required to offer delivery from your Restaurant through third-party delivery services, and only through the third-party delivery services approved by us and listed in our Manual. If you provide delivery using a third-party service that is not approved by us and is not listed in our Manual, you will be charged our prohibited product or service fine. Continued use of unapproved third-party delivery services will be a default under the Franchise Agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bb.Q Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if franchisees are permitted to provide catering or delivery services, Bb.Q Chicken has the right to require temporary signage or wraps on each delivery vehicle. Franchisees must ensure that all delivery vehicles are kept clean, in good working order, and properly insured. Furthermore, franchisees must require that each person providing delivery services complies with all laws, regulations, and rules of the road, and uses due care and caution when operating and maintaining the motor vehicles.

Bb.Q Chicken franchisees are required to offer delivery from their restaurants through third-party delivery services, but only through those approved by Bb.Q Chicken and listed in their Manual. Using a third-party delivery service that is not approved by Bb.Q Chicken and not listed in the Manual will result in a fine. Continued use of unapproved third-party delivery services will be a default under the Franchise Agreement.

This means that while franchisees might have some flexibility in providing their own delivery services, Bb.Q Chicken maintains control over branding and safety standards for those vehicles. More importantly, Bb.Q Chicken mandates the use of specific, approved third-party delivery services, ensuring consistency and potentially leveraging negotiated rates or service levels. Franchisees need to be aware of the approved delivery services and the consequences of using unapproved services, which could lead to fines or even a default on their franchise agreement.
